Maria
Nancy is the character in Task 4. She is a special character because she
combines two opposite story context together, the savage island story
"Lord of the Flies "and story of Civilization. And,
she is a change-gender who has haunted by the horrible experiences with
"her" another identity, Ralph.
Ralph
is from the novel, Lord of the Flies. He and some friends, including Jack were
marooned on the island ten years ago. Jack loved fighting and hunting, but
Ralph tended to use the civilized way, so Jack hated Ralph and tried to kill
Ralph. Luckily, Ralph escaped and was saved by the British Navy. The British
Navy brought Ralph back to the civilized place. After he gained consciousness,
he discovered that he had become a girl without the hoarse voices. Two parts of
his body were injured seriously, so the doctor did the operation to his brain
and private part immediately. Subsequently, the doctor removed his sex organ in
order to save him and his brain damage cannot fully recover after the
operation.
His ambiguity gender identity kept haunted Ralph and made him
feel inferiority until “she” became a Christian. Initially, she joined the
church because her great grand-mother’s sister is Mary, the mother of Jesus,
who guides her to the civilized way of living. And, she choose the white dress
to represent her characters of seriousness and solemnness. Later, she senses
the God’s gospel from those lovely songs which worship and praise the existence
of God. With the songs, Maria Nancy is bathed in the ideas of brightness. Thus,
she keeps the white dress to represent her characters now, brightness and with
a cleaned soul.
Furthermore,
Maria Nancy has two great partners. One is Bible-Blessing Andri and the other
is Wind-blessing Jumito. Both of them are positive people. They always
encourage Maria Nancy to cheer up and look at the bright side of the world.
Thus, now Maria Nancy doesn’t look down upon herself now. She even becomes more
active to share her experiences with others of the purpose of avoiding people
from the environments which are full of violence and cold and cruel people.
Now, Maria Nancy and her partners have their
visions of the peaceful world and they find it a good strategy to propagate
their beliefs in the Second Life.
