This is my Avatar in Second Life (Pictures above,) and I design it on the basis of my knowledge about Robinson in the novel Robinson Crusoe. Robinson is an Englishman, but he spends more time in the places outside his hometown, so rather than making his outfit like a 17th century English man (though the race of my character is chosen based on it), I make his appearance exotic. Also, according to the novel, he has some pets, and one of them is a parrot. That's why I buy the parrot from the Second Life market. The parrot will have some babbling if I touch him, and this behavior can be fit with the story that Robinson teaches his parrot as a way to prepare for the goal of teaching the aboriginals on the island English.
The clothes I also buy from the market, because I think that Robinson who experiences so many years on the savage island, will accept the art of the aboriginals, such as tattoo and the necklace made from human's bone, in some extend.
